Penrith back-rower Liam Martin has been granted an early release from the final year of his contract, effective immediately.

Martin requested the release to take up a three-year deal with Japanese club the Saitama Wild Knights.

The 25-year-old made his NRL debut with Penrith in 2017 and has played 102 games for the club.
